What is Procurement?

The term procurement describes the whole process of buying goods and services. It begins when a need is identified, and a decision is made to buy. Procurement continues through the process of planning to buy, seeking, and evaluating bids, and the awarding of a contract.

What is a tender and what is a bid?

A tender is the invitation to supply or participate in an opportunity (procurement) while a bid is a response to the invitation (the tender).
